Smart4Sciences are working with a global manufacturing organisation who are looking to add an Electrical Project Control Engineer to their engineering team at their Circleville, Ohio facility.
This is a hands‑on project engineering role where you’ll be responsible for scoping, designing, engineering and installing electrical and control projects across the facility, including both new installations and modifications to existing processes.
You’ll take projects from concept and budgeting through to construction, commissioning and start‑up, working closely with operations, maintenance, contractors, vendors and EHS to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project concepts, plans, scopes, budgets and schedules
- Lead projects from initial engineering through construction, commissioning and start‑up
- Obtain engineering and construction bids and coordinate contractors
- Oversee electrical, controls and process instrumentation installations and improvements
- Support plant power distribution, infrastructure and supporting systems
- Coordinate system outages and project‑related shutdowns
- Track project spending and communicate budget and cost trends
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, purchasing, vendors and EHS
- Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosis of operational and maintenance issues
- Develop operating and training programmes associated with new projects
- Ensure projects meet OSHA PSM, TS16949 and environmental permitting requirements
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or a related engineering discipline
- 5+ years’ experience with controls, DCS and/or PLC systems
- Experience with Allen‑Bradley PLCs and industrial process instrumentation
- Experience managing projects from concept through to commissioning
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical and control systems
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills
- Ability to conceptualise systems and translate requirements into practical engineering solutions
- Experience with GE Proficy iFix, SCADA, HMI or historian systems would be advantageous
