Job summary

NPAworldwide in Circleville, OH is seeking an Electrical Project Control Engineer to lead electrical and process control projects in a manufacturing setting. Electrical Project Control Engineer

Location: Circleville, OH office-based

Salary: US$85-120K plus 10% bonus and excellent benefits package

About The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Control Engineer to support engineering and capital improvement projects at its manufacturing facility in Circleville, Ohio.

This is a hands-on engineering role with responsibility for the scoping, engineering, design and installation of electrical and process control projects, including both new installations and modifications to existing plant systems.

You will manage projects from initial concept through construction and commissioning, working closely with operations, maintenance, contractors, vendors, purchasing and EHS to ensure projects are delivered safely, effectively and within agreed budgets and schedules.

Role & Responsibilities

As an Electrical Project Control Engineer, you will take ownership of engineering projects across the facility, ensuring technical solutions meet operational, safety, quality and commercial requirements.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Developing project concepts, scopes and engineering plans for electrical and process control projects
• Preparing scope documentation and obtaining engineering, equipment and construction bids
• Developing and controlling project budgets, schedules and expenditure
• Tracking project costs from initial concept through installation and commissioning
• Identifying spending trends and taking appropriate action to ensure projects remain within authorised budgets
• Coordinating construction activity, plant shutdowns and system outages
• Supporting project start-up, commissioning and operational handover
• Overseeing improvements to process control systems, plant infrastructure and electrical power distribution
• Supporting the diagnosis and resolution of operational and maintenance issues
• Supervising and coordinating contractors, vendors and internal engineering resources
• Working closely with operations, maintenance, purchasing and EHS
• Developing operating procedures and supporting training associated with new or modified systems
• Ensuring projects comply with relevant OSHA PSM, TS16949 and environmental permitting requirements

Qualifications

Key Requirements

You will be an experienced Electrical or Controls Engineer with a strong industrial background and practical experience delivering electrical, automation and process control projects within a manufacturing or process environment.

Key Requirements Include

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or a related engineering discipline
• 5+ years' controls, DCS and/or PLC experience
• Experience delivering electrical, controls or capital engineering projects within an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming and industrial process instrumentation, or the ability and willingness to develop this expertise
• Strong understanding of process control systems, plant electrical infrastructure and power distribution
• Experience developing project scopes, budgets, schedules and cost controls
• Ability to manage projects from concept and design through construction, start-up and commissioning
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, operations and maintenance teams
• Understanding of industrial safety, environmental and regulatory requirements

Experience with GE Proficy iFIX SCADA, HMI and historian software would be advantageous.
