Job summary

Rockline is seeking an automation technician to support daily plant operations, troubleshoot controls, and drive continuous improvement in converting processes. You will work with Operations and HPOT teams, program PLCs (AB ControlLogix and other platforms), manage electrical systems, and ensure safety.

The role requires shift flexibility for equipment downtimes and backup coverage. Candidates should have an AS Electronics Technology and experience with 24VDC systems, HMI, and vision systems.

Qualifications

• AS Electronics Technology or 2-year electronics training with 1 year automation experience.
• Must understand PLC ladder logic, HMI, and vision system programming.
• Knowledge of robotic programming and 24VDC systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and in accordance with facility safety guidelines and procedures.
• Provide daily process support to Operations Team and HPOT teams.
• Troubleshoot equipment and improve converting processes and equipment.
• Facilitate procurement or development of equipment documentation for operations.
• Troubleshoot problems and implement repairs or program modifications as needed.

Job description

• Work safely and in accordance with facility safety guidelines and procedures.
• 2. Work directly with and provide daily process support to the Operations Team and HPOT teams.
• 3. Provide technical support for troubleshooting equipment and process related issues as well as continuous improvement of converting processes and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to plant electrical distribution systems, equipment or process control systems, electrical circuits, motors and drives.
• 4. Facilitate the procurement and or development of equipment and process documentation necessary to support the manufacturing operations.
• 5. Troubleshoot equipment problems and determine causes in order to implement necessary repair up to and including program modification.
• 6. Must be flexible in work schedule to support equipment downs or to provide backup shift coverage support on an as needed basis.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of an AS Electronics Technology, a 2 year electronics training program and 1 year experience with automation and controls equipment including but not limited to AB Control Logix and at least one other controls platform or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must understand the basics of PLC ladder logic, HMI and Vision system programming. Knowledge of robotic programming, 24VDC systems and the ability to make minor modifications to control systems (timers, counters, constants, etc.) preferred.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to communicate face-to-face and over the phone
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling and reaching, as well as occasional sitting.
• Work environment includes occasional noise >85db, hot and cold temperatures and some fumes/odors.
• Ability to work on ladders and at heights required for the installation of equipment.
• Requires ability to read write, calculate, interact socially, and reason.
• Requires good visual acuity with depth perception and color vision.
