Job summary

Rockline Industries in Booneville, AR is seeking an Electrical Controls Tech I or II to support daily operations on the A shift (5:45 AM–2:15 PM). You will troubleshoot and tune plant electrical distribution, control systems, and drives, and work closely with the Operations Team to keep lines running safely.

Candidates should have AS Electronics Technology or a 2-year electronics program, plus 3 years in automation.

Qualifications

• AS Electronics Technology or 2-year electronics training plus 3 years experience with automation and controls.
• Understand PLC ladder logic, HMI and Vision system programming; robotics programming knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of 24VDC systems and ability to modify control programs.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and in accordance with facility safety guidelines.
• Provide daily process support to Operations and HPOT teams.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues; improve converting processes and equipment.
• Modify and tune manufacturing equipment; develop documentation for equipment.
• Support procurement or development of equipment/process documentation.
• Be flexible to cover shifts and equipment downtime as needed.

Title: Electrical Controls Tech I or II

Shift: A - Shift; 5:45AM-2:15PM

• 40 hours a week with 8-hour days

Essential Accountabilities

• Work safely and in accordance with facility safety guidelines and procedures.
• Work directly with and provide daily process support to the Operations Team and HPOT teams.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting equipment and process related issues as well as continuous improvement of converting processes and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to plant electrical distribution systems, equipment or process control systems, electrical circuits, motors and drives.
• Facilitate the procurement and or development of equipment and process documentation necessary to support the manufacturing operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and determine causes in order to implement necessary repair up to and including program modification.
• Modifies existing logic and writing as projects mandate.
• Responsible for tuning modifying and installing new manufacturing equipment.
• Must be flexible in work schedule to support equipment downs or to provide backup shift coverage support on an as needed basis.

Required Skills

Minimum of an AS Electronics Technology, a 2-year electronics training program, or equivalent plus 3 years experience with automation and controls equipment including but not limited to AB Control Logix and at least one other controls platform. Must understand the basics of PLC ladder logic, HMI and Vision system programming. Knowledge of robotic programming, 24VDC systems and the ability to make minor modifications to control systems (timers, counters, constants, etc.) preferred.

• Must be able to communicate face-to-face and over the phone
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling and reaching, as well as occasional sitting.
• Work environment includes occasional noise >85db, hot and cold temperatures and some fumes/odors.
• Ability to work on ladders and at heights required for the installation of equipment.
• Requires ability to read write, calculate, interact socially, and reason.
• Requires good visual acuity with depth perception and color vision.
