Electrical Construction Technology Instructor

Join to apply for the Electrical Construction Technology Instructor role at Johnson College.

Johnson College is seeking a full-time instructor for our Electrical Construction Technology program. If you have a passion for your industry and are comfortable speaking in front of small groups, we would love to hear from you. Prior teaching experience is a plus but not required. This role involves sharing your expertise and inspiring future technicians.

The responsibilities include instructing students on principles and applications through classroom lectures and hands-on activities. The ideal candidate should be confident speaking before small groups and passionate about recruiting into skilled trades. You will manage, develop, deliver, and assess courses.

The position begins at the end of August and runs through mid-May. Requirements:

  • Associate's degree
  • At least 4 years of experience in electrical construction

Position Summary: The instructor manages, maintains, and supervises their course, reports to the lead instructor or program director, and is responsible for course development, delivery, and assessment.

Essential Job Functions include:

  • Review and maintain syllabi and curriculum
  • Assist with resource selection and updates
  • Enforce policies and ensure safety
  • Provide student advisement and promote the program
  • Participate in college activities and professional organizations
  • Support the Continuing Education Department
  • Perform other related duties

Candidates should have strong communication, teaching, managerial, assessment, organizational, and word-processing skills, along with industry knowledge.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Enforce policies with students and within the course.

Equipment Used: Computers and related software.
