Position Summary

GEMCO is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Electrical to lead commercial and industrial electrical construction projects throughout the Indiana Region.

This is an onsite position based at GEMCO's Carmel, Indiana office and requires regular collaboration with field teams, customers, vendors, and internal departments.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading projects from preconstruction through closeout, with ownership of schedule, cost, quality, customer relationships, and overall project performance. This role works closely with Superintendents, Foremen, Estimators, Accounting, Purchasing, and other project stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.

What You'll Do

Plan, coordinate, and manage electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.

Partner with Superintendents and Foremen to develop project schedules, manpower plans, and execution strategies.

Review drawings, specifications, estimates, contracts, and scope documents.

Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.

Manage project budgets, forecasts, billing, cash flow, committed costs, and overall financial performance.

Monitor labor productivity, material utilization, schedules, and project profitability.

Identify project risks and implement solutions to minimize delays and cost overruns.

Prepare, negotiate, and manage change orders and scope adjustments.

Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.

Lead project kickoff, coordination, progress, and customer meetings.

Collaborate with Estimating, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, and Operations.

Manage project closeout, including punch lists, final documentation, and customer turnover.

Requirements

Experience managing commercial or industrial electrical construction projects.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent electrical construction and project management experience will also be considered.

Working knowledge of electrical construction methods, drawings, specifications, scheduling, and project sequencing.

Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, cost control, billing, and change orders.

Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.

Proficiency with construction technology and project management systems such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms preferred.

Ability to work onsite in Carmel, Indiana and travel to project sites throughout the Indiana Region as needed.
