Job summary

Ferguson Electric is seeking a Project Manager – Construction Division to lead large-scale electrical projects across New York. You will partner with customers, manage contracts, budgets, and schedules, and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.

You will coordinate across divisions, oversee subcontractors, handle change orders, invoicing, and project closeout, and mentor field staff while delivering on-time, on-budget results for diverse commercial and industrial clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
• Five years in the commercial electrical trade preferably running projects.
• Experience as a Project Manager on hard bid and design build large projects.
• Field experience coordinating with construction management.
• Strong scheduling, bids, take offs, change orders, and contracts knowledge.
• Ability to develop relationships and win projects.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license a plus.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with customers and introduce complete portfolio of Ferguson services where appropriate.
• Collaborate across all Ferguson divisions when working with new and existing customers to ensure exceptional project delivery.
• Adhere to IBEW rules and regulations and all codes and standards.
• Manage and oversee construction project lifecycle including contract, finance, and budget.
• Understand project scope and manage estimates, changes, and contract value.
• Manage invoicing, project costs, and cost-to-complete tracking.
• Set up weekly cost codes and manage subcontracts when required.
• Coordinate project manpower and equipment with foremen for safe, efficient work.
• Procure materials with just-in-time delivery; resolve delivery and site logistics issues.
• Work with other trades to meet project objectives.
• Manage submittal approvals and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Create and drive construction schedules aligned with owner/construction manager’s timeline.
• Oversee all subcontracts and participation requirements; manage the RFI process.
• Ensure timely submission of closeout documents.
