Job summary

Amteck, LLC is seeking a Material Manager to oversee receipt, organization, movement, and distribution of materials on large construction projects. The role requires clear communication, meticulous organization, and collaborative thinking, with daily direction from the Project Manager and Lead Superintendent.

You will build relationships with electricians, coordinate with Superintendents and foremen, and ensure stocked trailers, cages, and work packages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Military experience preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years in electrical construction/material field preferred.
• Self-starter with initiative and value-add mindset.
• Understanding of electrical construction flow and materials.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate a forklift.
• Willingness to travel and stay on project sites.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with the Superintendent and Procurement regarding material status.
• Build relationships with electricians to meet material needs.
• Coordinate with Superintendents and foremen on material kitting and staging.
• Ensure material trailer, clam shell boxes, and cages are stocked per Lead Superintendent specs.
• Verify work package kits are built, accurate, and staged.
• Sign for materials on delivery and distribute accordingly.
• Maintain shipment packing slips and balance items with Purchase Orders.
• Receive and fulfill field material requests with on-time delivery to site locations.
• Record received materials in inventory with dates, quantities, and descriptions.
• Identify and communicate material shortfalls to the Lead Superintendent.
• Identify opportunities for material logistics improvements to stay ahead of challenges.
• Submit material quality discrepancy reports to the Lead Superintendent for action.
• Account for underutilized materials to be returned for credit.
