Job summary

Service Electric Company is seeking an Estimator to collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors and internal teams to create estimates and bids for electrical construction projects. The role involves takeoffs, scheduling, and final bid submission with leadership oversight.

Required are a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of estimating in electrical construction, with strong Excel skills and meticulous attention to detail. Moderate travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent knowledge through education, training and experience.
• 3+ years of estimating experience in the electrical construction field.
• Strong experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
• Collaborate with Lead and Senior Estimators to prepare documents for legal review.
• Identify bid type and scope, construction timeframes, materials, and labor expenses, and bonding and bid requirements.
• Travel to and attend pre-bid meetings and/or to jobsites, potentially with a senior team member.
• Identify project risks and discuss with Lead and Senior Estimators.
• Gather quotes from subcontractors and materials as needed.
• Perform takeoffs and build project plans and construction plans with supporting documents.
• Finalize schedule and work plan with Lead and Senior Estimators and align expectations.
• Submit final bid with leadership approval and maintain bid logs.
• Assist with labor and equipment rate schedules; coordinate with Project Management and Field Leadership.
