Job Title: Electrical Construction Coordinator (Owner's Rep)
Duration: 11+ months, with potential for long-term extension
Pay: $60–$65 per hour plus overtime
Schedule: Approximately 50 hours per week

Position Overview
The Electrical Construction Coordinator will serve as the Owner’s field representative for electrical construction activities on a large power plant project. This position will monitor contractor safety, quality, schedule, productivity, and compliance with project requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong electrical field experience, leadership potential, and an interest in progressing into a Construction Manager position.
Responsibilities
- Provide full-time, on-site oversight of electrical construction activities.
- Promote safe work practices and perform contractor safety surveillance.
- Assist the Construction Manager with field coordination, progress tracking, contractor oversight, and issue resolution.
- Monitor contractor work planning, staffing, sequencing, productivity, and schedule performance.
- Oversee the installation of switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, cable tray, conduit, power and control cabling, grounding systems, and equipment terminations.
- Inspect electrical work for compliance with drawings, specifications, quality procedures, contract requirements, and applicable codes.
- Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions with contractors, engineers, and project management.
- Report schedule risks, construction barriers, and recovery plans to the Construction Manager.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers to resolve technical questions, drawing conflicts, scope issues, and constructability concerns.
- Participate in field walkdowns, punch-list development, testing, energization, commissioning, and system turnover.
- Coordinate electrical activities with mechanical, civil, instrumentation, controls, and commissioning teams.
- Prepare daily reports and provide updates on safety, quality, schedule, and project risks.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of electrical construction experience in power generation, utilities, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
- Experience as an Electrical Construction Coordinator, Superintendent, General Foreman, Inspector, or Owner’s Representative.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical construction practices and equipment installation.
- Ability to interpret one-line diagrams, electrical drawings, specifications, cable schedules, and vendor documentation.
- Experience monitoring contractor safety, quality, staffing, productivity, and schedule performance.
- Power plant, gas turbine, combined-cycle, or simple-cycle construction experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and field coordination skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic construction documentation systems.
- Ability to work approximately 50 hours per week at the project site.
