North Carolina A&T State University is seeking a Chair for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering to lead a large, tenure-track faculty and professional staff, advancing research, teaching, and accreditation goals.

The Chair will manage strategic budgets, recruit and mentor faculty, drive curriculum evolution, and foster partnerships with industry, donors, and alumni to support graduate competitiveness and strategic college clusters.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or terminal degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• Academic rank at the level of Full Professor.
• Minimum six years of demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and scholarly activities.
• Proven administrative leadership with ability to lead diverse teams.
• Strong scholarly record with extramural funding.
• Service-oriented leadership to motivate faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the department and alignment with college goals.
• Oversee budgeting, faculty recruitment, mentoring, and curriculum advancement.
• Cultivate corporate, donor, and alumni partnerships to advance research and education.
• Support ABET accreditation processes and graduate competitiveness.
