Job summary

Gentex Corporation is seeking an Electrical Component Engineer I to support selection, evaluation, and lifecycle management of electronic components for various projects. This on-site role collaborates with design, manufacturing and QA teams to ensure components meet specs, quality standards, and project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years of relevant professional work experience.
• Familiarity with electronic components and circuit analysis.
• Experience with circuit simulation tools and related software.

Responsibilities

• Support selection and evaluation of electronic components and suppliers.
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve component issues and establish reliable supply chains.
• Assist with population and maintenance of the component database and APQP PPAP processes.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing and QA teams to troubleshoot component issues.
• Support lifecycle activities (PCN, EOL, VAVE, allocation) for components.
• Stay current with technology trends to drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct basic reliability analyses (MTBF, FTA, FMEA, DRBFM).
• Other duties as assigned.
