Job summary

Montgomery County in Ohio seeks a professional Electrical Inspector responsible for enforcing electrical codes during inspections of building installations. You will review RISER diagrams, perform rough and final inspections and document discrepancies to ensure safety and compliance.

The role requires current Level 3 Inspector certification with an electrical endorsement or ability to obtain within six months, a valid US driver's license, and ongoing licensure.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to High School diploma.
• Must possess Level 3 Inspector certification with an electrical endorsement issued by the State of Ohio or have the ability to obtain one within six months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical installations for compliance with applicable building codes.
• Review RISER diagrams to verify design information is accurate.
• Perform rough and final electrical safety inspections at inspection sites.
• Document discrepancies and maintain a log of time spent at each site.
• Advise builders, contractors and homeowners on non-conformance causes and certify jobs meeting code requirements for the public utility.
• Respond to inquiries regarding electrical requirements and investigate complaints.
• Participate in trade group meetings to discuss code updates and related issues.
