Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Commissioning Consultant to perform basic technical and project management duties under supervision. You will handle commissioning tasks, guide coordinators, and support multiple locations with a Stantec office presence.

The role emphasizes planning, testing, documentation, and collaboration with contractors and clients to optimize building operations. Domestic travel and a technical background in electrical engineering are central to the position.

Qualifications

• Technical/Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 1+ year of consulting engineering experience preferred
• Data center/mission critical facilities experience is beneficial
• Licensed PE or EIT is a plus
• LEED AP accreditation is a plus
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD
• Knowledge of MEP systems and controls design, installation and operation
• Willingness to travel 75%+ domestically; valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

• Participates in all phases of commissioning projects including planning, scheduling, and coordination
• Performs design reviews and prepares commissioning scripts and reports; directs client-site testing
• Prepares start-up procedures; develops SOPs and MOPs; maintains commissioning documentation
• Prepares commissioning test procedures and reports
• Develops and maintains commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and tracking tools
• Prepares comprehensive reports and recommendations for optimizing building operations
• Reviews design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and related docs
• Interacts with construction contractors, vendors, and testing technicians
• Conducts tests and compiles testing procedure results
• Integrates system testing and load bank testing; consolidates results
• Develops functional tests for building Electrical systems (UPS, Generator, Switchgear)
