State of Oregon's Building Codes Division seeks an Electrical Code Specialist and Trainer to interpret licensing requirements, develop statewide code interpretations, and provide training to license holders and inspectors.

You will deliver technical guidance on adopted codes to builders, homeowners, and designers, research legislation impacts, and help resolve issues between contractors and jurisdictions. The role offers telework part-time after gaining proficiency and has strong benefits.

Formación

• Extensive knowledge of administration and enforcement of the state electrical code.
• Ability to develop and deliver training on interpretation and application of electrical provisions.
• Ability to clearly explain highly complex policy and technical issues.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Word).

Responsabilidades

• Interpret licensing requirements for electrical contractors, licensed electricians and the public.
• Research and develop the division's position on legislation affecting electrical codes and licensing.
• Provide occasional Electrical and Elevator Board support.
• Develop and draft statewide code interpretations.
• Provide technical guidance on adopted codes and product standards to builders, designers, homeowners and stakeholders.
• Prepare and provide certification training and continuing education to license holders, inspectors and plans examiners.
• Prepare information for local jurisdictions and the industry.
• Mitigate issues between contractors, inspectors and local jurisdictions.
