Job summary

ESPO Corporation is seeking an Electrical CAD Technician in Chesterfield, MO for a 12 month contract. You will join a technical team of Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers creating and revising technical drawings for electrical substations.

You will prepare new drawings, maintain documents, and ensure version control while meeting project deadlines. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; AutoCAD Electrical and Revit are a plus, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or CAD cert plus 2 years drafting experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD with knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and Revit a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and revise engineering drawings for electrical substations.
  • Create and maintain engineering documents through project lifecycles.
  • Coordinate drafting and document control across multiple projects.
  • Utilize drafting and data management software applications.
  • Adhere to ANSI drafting standards and procedures.
  • Support managers with ad hoc projects.
  • Handle additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Electrical CAD Technician

Chesterfield, MO | 12 month contract

The Technician will function as a member of a technical team alongside Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers and will be responsible for the creation and revision of technical drawings associated with the design and engineering of electrical substations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparing new drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components based on both written & verbal instructions.
  • Create, organize, track, and maintain engineering documents throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring document accuracy, version control, and timely distribution.
  • Coordinate drafting and document control activities across multiple concurrent projects while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Utilize various drafting and data management software applications.
  • Adhere to company, client, and ANSI drafting standards and procedures.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum Associate's degree in CAD related program or specialized CAD certification plus 2 years of relevant drafting experience.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.
  • Experience with Revit is a plus.
  • Self‑motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with engineers, project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage documentation and priorities across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high‑quality work.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with the ability and willingness to quickly learn new software platforms, systems, and technologies.
  • Demonstrated initiative to identify process improvements and implement more efficient ways of working.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
