Job summary

ESPO Corporation in Akron, OH (44320) or Columbus, OH (43215) seeks an Electrical CAD Technician for a 12 month contract to hire. The role centers on creating and revising electrical drawings for outage sequencing using AutoCAD.

You will collaborate with Designers, Engineers and Project Managers, ensuring compliance with drafting standards and ANSI practices while supporting various projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; AutoCAD Electrical and Revit are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or CAD certification plus 2 years drafting experience.
• GPA at least 3.0.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; AutoCAD Electrical and Revit a plus.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Electrical CAD Technician

Job Description:

The Technician will function as a member of a technical team alongside Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers by contributing to the planning and design efforts associated with electrical outage sequencing within the electrical utility industry. This job will require the creation and revision of technical drawings with the use of AutoCAD.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparing new drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
• Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
• Responsible for adhering to ANSI standard drafting practices.
• Assist in drafting, design, and documentation for various projects.
• Assist with tasks utilizing various drafting and design software.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum Associate's degree in CAD related program or specialized CAD certification plus 2 years of relevant drafting experience.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.
• Experience with Revit is a plus.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with engineers, project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage documentation and priorities across multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude with the ability and willingness to quickly learn new software platforms, systems, and technologies.
• Demonstrated initiative to identify process improvements and implement more efficient ways of working.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
