Job summary

AEP is seeking a Designer to perform CAD drafting and maintenance of engineering and record drawings in support of PCE—Protection and Control Engineering. The role involves collecting field data, preparing sketches, and ensuring documents meet company standards.

The position requires proficiency in CAD and MS Office, with the ability to work with engineering teams, read vendor prints, and participate in safety programs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in AAS CAD or related field or equivalent experience.
• Equivalent experience without AAS: high school graduate with 4 years of drafting/CAD experience.
• Overtime, call-out overtime and shift work required.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license.
• Must be familiar with drafting symbols and color distinction.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise and maintain engineering and record drawings.
• Support creation, revision and maintenance of facilities and equipment documents.
• Obtain information from verbal or written sources and site visits.
• Perform mathematical calculations as needed.
• Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office.
• Coordinate work with other Company groups to ensure safety and efficiency.
