Job summary

Synerfac Inc. is seeking an Electrical CAD Designer to join our Wilmington, NC engineering team.

The role focuses on designing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and public sector projects, with collaboration across disciplines to produce construction and permit documents. You will contribute to power distribution, low voltage IT/security infrastructure, and lighting design while supporting field activities and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years of electrical building systems design experience.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of building codes and standard construction design practices.
• PE, EIT, or EI certification preferred.
• Experience with power distribution and low voltage systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution systems, including riser diagrams and panel schedules.
• Develop low voltage infrastructure for IT and security systems.
• Create lighting designs, including fixture selection, controls, and lighting calculations
• Design fire alarm, security, and controls systems
• Calculate electrical loads, fault current, and voltage drop
• Produce construction and permit documents for building projects
• Conduct field surveys and provide support during construction
