Actalent seeks a skilled Electrical Designer to produce detailed AutoCAD drawings for electrical builds, modifications, and client-specified upgrades. You will uphold CAD standards while learning client equipment and NEC guidelines, collaborating with engineers and production staff to deliver timely drawings.

The role involves 8-hour days on-site at a large Houston facility, with 50-hour weeks typical and a contract-to-hire pathway.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
• 2+ years of experience in AutoCAD 2D Design.
• Experience with medium and low voltage equipment design, including relay/control panels.
• Familiarity with power distribution and low voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Create and update engineering drawings using AutoCAD for various projects.
• Track and prioritize assigned tasks to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain company CAD standards and templates.
• Learn and apply knowledge of electrical equipment, client-specific standards, and NEC guidelines.
• Read and analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and plans.
• Produce accurate drawings promptly and independently.
• Evaluate designs for constructability and estimate material usage.
• Create a bill of materials for design products.
