Job summary

Slifco Electric, LLC, a Greensboro-based electrical contracting firm, is seeking an Electrical Buyer to support procurement across multiple electrical construction projects in NC. This role will manage material purchasing, vendor relationships, and delivery coordination to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

The Electrical Buyer collaborates with Project Managers, Estimators, Superintendents, and suppliers, ensuring accurate purchasing, competitive pricing, and timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of procurement experience within electrical construction.
• Strong knowledge of electrical materials and construction procurement practices.
• Experience with commercial/industrial/automotive projects preferred.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams; ERP or purchasing systems experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing and procurement activities for electrical construction projects.
• Review drawings, specs, and material requests to ensure accurate purchasing.
• Generate and track purchase orders aligned with budgets and schedules.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor quotations for pricing and quality.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms with suppliers.
• Coordinate with PMs, estimators, and field leaders on material needs and lead times.
• Monitor deliveries and resolve delays or discrepancies.
• Track procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
• Support forecasting of material needs across active projects.
• Assist in developing purchasing processes and standards.

Slifco Electric is a premier electrical contracting firm serving the Automotive, Heavy Industrial, and Mission Critical sectors. We specialize in both ground-up construction and major renovations, managing electrical packages ranging from small service work to multi-million-dollar installations.

Slifco Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Buyer to support procurement operations across multiple electrical construction projects. This individual will play a key role in managing material purchasing, vendor relationships, cost control, and delivery coordination to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.

The Electrical Buyer works closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Superintendents, and vendors to proactively manage material procurement and mitigate supply chain risks.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead purchasing and procurement activities for electrical construction projects.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and material requests to ensure accurate purchasing.

What We're Looking For:

• Required: 5+ years of procurement experience within the electrical construction industry.
• Required: Strong knowledge of electrical materials and construction procurement practices.
• Experience supporting commercial, industrial, or automotive construction projects preferred.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Experience with ERP or purchasing systems preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accountability.
