Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an Electrical Tradesperson to maintain and test electrical systems, breakers, and generation equipment. You will perform diagnostics, safety testing, and preventative maintenance on high and low voltage systems.

This role requires hands-on skills, ability to work independently or with a team, and the ability to obtain DOE L or Q clearance; overtime and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Must complete a state approved electrical apprenticeship program or achieve equivalent journeyman status.
• Demonstrated knowledge of low voltage electrical distribution and related safety practices.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and test equipment.
• Ability to work independently or in a team with strong communication.
• Willingness to work overtime and be on-call.

Responsibilities

• Test and maintain low voltage circuit breakers and safety switches to NETA standards.
• Maintain and calibrate circuit breaker testing equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on building electrical systems and related devices.
• Lay out, install, modify and troubleshoot distribution systems including generator systems.
• Operate and troubleshoot test equipment and read computerized records for compliance.
