Job summary
Ranken Technical College seeks an Electrical Automation Technology instructor to teach courses covering control circuits, PLCs, power distribution, and motors and drives. Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical or related field.
- 5+ years of practical work experience in power distribution, motors, controls, and VFDs.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley SLC/ControlLogix PLCs and HMI software.
- Knowledge of NEC and commercial wiring and power distribution.
- Community college or technical school teaching experience preferred but we will train.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Computer literacy in MS Office; strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
Responsibilities
- Prepares for and teaches Electrical Automation Technology courses including Control Circuits, PLCs, Power Distribution, and Motors and Drives.
- Plans daily activities for students in theory and lab.
- Supervises students for theory and lab grades.
- Instructs and evaluates students; enforces shop safety.
- Maintains a safe worksite and safety standards.
- Assists in maintaining lab and classroom equipment.
- Participates in curriculum development, scheduling, budgeting, hiring, and governance.
