Job summary

Ranken Technical College seeks an Electrical Automation Technology instructor to teach theory and labs, ensuring hands-on lab safety and adherence to standards. You will supervise student work, contribute to curriculum, and support lab maintenance while staying current with industry practices.

Qualifications

• AS or BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Three years or more of practical work experience in power distribution, AC/DC motors, controls, and VFDs.
• Experience with Allen Bradley SLC/ControlLogix platforms, HMI WonderWare, RsView 32, FactoryTalk, Panelbuilder, Ethernet I/P, and related tools.
• Instrumentation calibration and control loop tuning experience.
• NEC knowledge and commercial wiring/power distribution.
• PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned theory and lab classes; plans daily activities and grades.
• Instructs and evaluates students in electrical technology courses; emphasizes shop safety.
• Maintains a safe worksite and enforces safety standards.
• Assists in maintaining lab and classroom equipment.
• Assists management with curriculum, syllabi, scheduling, budgeting, hiring; participates in governance.
• Participates in training to stay current; supports industry standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
