Job summary
Wagstaff, a leading equipment manufacturer for aluminum producers, seeks an experienced Engineering Manager for the Automated Systems Engineering and Design Group. You will ensure timely, high-quality electrical engineering, design, and automation services for internal and external customers.
Travel, leadership, and hands-on production support are required. Responsibilities include directing teams, maintaining schedules, improving processes, and serving as the primary technical contact for
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of five years electrical engineering and design experience; industrial experience preferred.
- Leadership skills: supervise a staff of engineers and designers, oversee recruitment and performance management.
- Strong multi-department leadership and collaboration across teams.
- Experience with electrical engineering, industrial automation, and design standards.
Responsibilities
- Direct the work of Automated Systems Group personnel including planning, scheduling and staffing.
- Measure performance of responsible teams against schedule and quality targets.
- Train and lead teams in problem solving and design development processes.
- Lead cross-functional teams to optimize deliverables to internal/external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain departmental standards and design procedures.
- Serve as Wagstaff’s primary technical contact for electrical/automation issues throughout projects.
- Create, modify and maintain design standards; supervise PLC/SCADA implementations.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
