Job summary

Wagstaff, a manufacturer of aluminum casting equipment, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to apply engineering knowledge to the design, development and production of Wagstaff casting equipment in a hands-on role. You will lead design efforts, produce drawings, review vendor and customer documents, and coordinate with multi-disciplined teams to meet project goals.

Travel to customer sites may be required, and work weeks can exceed 40 hours.

Qualifications

  • Designs a complete project, system, component, or process of standard complexity.
  • Performs standard computations or analysis.
  • Prepares Drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarize with Wagstaff aluminum casting equipment and design criteria.
  • Define mechanical engineering and equipment requirements with project teams.
  • Use parametric solid seed models to generate customer approval drawings.
  • Create and oversee design documents for customer approvals and production.
  • Serve as Wagstaff’s primary technical contact to customer’s technical personnel.
  • Review the Approval Drawings and Manufacturing Drawings for Aluminum Association guidelines.
  • Provide technical and analytical evaluations prioritizing safety, functionality, and cost.
  • Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Train team members on Wagstaff product lines.
  • Prepare and release design documents.
  • Provide technical direction to other team members.
  • Abide by company policies.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Work weeks exceeding 40 hours may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
