Job summary

Serac Inc. in Carol Stream, IL is hiring an Electrical Assembly Supervisor to lead the electro-mechanical assembly, panel build, wiring, and testing of our machines. You will manage staffing, schedules, quality, and daily problem solving in a climate-controlled on-site facility.

You will guide a skilled crew, ensure safety and process adherence, and collaborate with controls engineers to keep timelines and 5S/Kaizen initiatives on track.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• 5 to 10+ years building electrical control panels by hand.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, BOMs, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Skilled with hand/power tools, fabrication machinery, and material handling equipment.
• Valid Illinois driver's license.
• Allen-Bradley / electrical controls exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 5+ electro-mechanical assemblers, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance reviews.
• Schedule electrical assembly work to line balance and keep production visuals and documents current
• Monitor quality, completeness, and timeliness across assembly processes and drive corrective actions
• Troubleshoot electrical technical issues and support the team on the floor
• Partner with the manufacturing controls engineer to keep the red-line process on track
• Lead 5S audits, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement
• Own safety, housekeeping, and policy compliance for your area

The Role

As Electrical Assembly Supervisor, you lead the electrical and mechanical assembly, panel build, machine wiring, and testing that get our machines ready to ship. You will balance the schedule, protect quality, solve the daily technical problems, and grow a skilled crew.

What you bring

• Strong understanding of assembly drawings, electrical schematics, BOMs, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Skilled with hand/power tools, fabrication machinery, and material handling equipment (forklift, overhead/gantry crane)
• Associate degree in electro-mechanical technology preferred; HS Diploma or GED required
• Valid Illinois driver's license
• Allen-Bradley / electrical controls exposure is a plus

Physical demands

On-site in a climate-controlled facility with some travel. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and to bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work at elevation.
