Job summary

nVent is seeking an Assembly Operator in Solon, IA, to assemble a wide range of electrical fastening products per Work Instructions and blueprints. You will perform quality checks and handle materials to maintain production flow.

You will work as part of a team, follow safety standards, and participate in continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs. Strong attention to detail and ability to use hand tools are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Knowledge in use of scales, preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferred.
• Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints, preferred.
• Experience in assembling mechanical parts into a finished product, preferred.
• Experience in using hand and power tools, preferred.
• Prior experience working in a light industrial facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work individually or as part of a team to assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package an entire product or component of a product according to Work Instructions.
• Completes work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions.
• Selects and moves production materials as required.
• Maintains equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
• Meets established safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
• Records accurate information on Manufacturing Order and performs transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
• Complies with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards. Reports adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to department leader in accord ance to escalation procedure.
• Adheres to department 5S standards daily. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• In accordance with escalation procedure, notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
• Demonstrates flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed. Participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
