Electronic Power Design, Inc. (EPD) is seeking an experienced Electrical Assembler Supervisor to lead the 2nd shift and supervise electrical assembly personnel, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards while achieving production schedules.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical assembly experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical assembly processes and the ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, quality systems, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Global Shop Solutions (GSS) preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily electrical assembly operations for UL-891 switchboards, control systems, and custom electrical equipment.
  • Assign work based on production priorities while monitoring workflow, labor utilization, and schedule adherence.
  • Ensure products are assembled according to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate activities with Engineering, Planning, Mechanical Assembly, Warehouse, and Quality teams.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop a team of electrical assemblers.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee training and development.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, workforce planning, and cross-training initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

EPD is seeking an experienced and results-driven Electrical Assembler Supervisor to lead electrical assembly operations and support the continued growth of our manufacturing organization.

This role is responsible for supervising electrical assembly personnel, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, achieving production schedules, and developing high-performing teams. The Electrical Assembler Supervisor partners closely with Engineering, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, and Manufacturing Leadership to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
  • Lead daily electrical assembly operations for UL-891 switchboards, control systems, and custom electrical equipment.
  • Assign work based on production priorities while monitoring workflow, labor utilization, and schedule adherence.
  • Ensure products are assembled according to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate activities with Engineering, Planning, Mechanical Assembly, Warehouse, and Quality teams.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop a team of electrical assemblers.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee training and development.

Quality & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with UL-891 standards, EPD quality requirements, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the assembly process and partner with Quality to resolve issues.
  • Conduct safety meetings, observations, and corrective actions to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, and operational performance.
Operational Performance
  • Utilize Global Shop Solutions (GSS), Microsoft Excel, and production reports to monitor department performance.
  • Track productivity, labor efficiency, schedule attainment, quality metrics, and operational KPIs.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance workflow, productivity, and manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, capacity planning, and new product implementation initiatives.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical assembly experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical assembly processes and the ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, quality systems, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Global Shop Solutions (GSS) preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in UL-891 switchboard or custom electrical equipment manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification.
  • Electrical Safety Training certification.
  • Experience supporting engineer-to-order (ETO) manufacturing.
  • Experience leading teams of 15 or more employees.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to lift bulky or awkward materials with or without assistance.
  • Ability to work in varying manufacturing environments, including heat and cold.
  • Ability to safely navigate production areas while supporting manufacturing operations.
