Job summary

Electronic Power Design, Inc. (EPD) is seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Planning Clerk to support production through document control, wiretag management, and planning administration.

This role connects Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Planning, ensuring information is accurate, current, and readily available for production teams. You will create and distribute production documents, maintain logs, and organize job packets, while coordinating with multiple departments to meet

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing support, document control, planning, or administrative operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and document management systems.
  • Strong organizational and document control skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Global Shop Solutions (GSS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and distribute production documentation including job travelers, BOMs, engineering drawings, checklists, and manufacturing packets.
  • Ensure all documentation reflects the latest revisions and engineering updates.
  • Maintain document control logs and filing systems for manufacturing records.
  • Organize and archive completed job packets and production documentation.
  • Ensure controlled documents are distributed accurately and removed appropriately after project completion.
  • Create, update, and maintain wiretag files using Microsoft Excel.
  • Utilize comparison formulas and revision tracking methods to identify engineering changes and maintain version control.
  • Print wiretags, labels, terminal markers, and component identification tags for production.
  • Coordinate urgent wiretag updates and support engineering change requests.
  • Verify labeling accuracy to support quality and manufacturing requirements.
  • Communicate revision updates, documentation changes, and production priorities to manufacturing personnel.
  • Coordinate document and wiretag distribution across multiple product lines.
  • Support emergency production requests and HOT job requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between Planning, Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Assist with production readiness activities and documentation alignment.
  • Operate and maintain label printers, wiretag printers, and engraving equipment.
  • Troubleshoot minor printer and equipment issues.
  • Monitor supply levels and coordinate replenishment of labeling and printing materials.
  • Maintain organization within document control and printing areas.
  • Support cross-functional planning activities and departmental projects.

Our Manufacturing Planning team plays a critical role in supporting production by maintaining accurate documentation, wiretags, labels, and job packets that enable our manufacturing teams to build high-quality products safely and efficiently.


The Opportunity:

EPD is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Manufacturing Planning Clerk to support manufacturing operations through document control, wiretag management, production packet preparation, and planning administration.


This role serves as a key communication link between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Planning. The ideal candidate enjoys working with documentation, maintaining accuracy, supporting production teams, and ensuring critical manufacturing information is readily available and properly controlled.


What You’ll Do

Document Control & Production Support


  • Create, maintain, and distribute production documentation including job travelers, Bills of Material (BOMs), engineering drawings, checklists, and manufacturing packets.

  • Ensure all documentation reflects the latest revisions and engineering updates.

  • Maintain document control logs and filing systems for manufacturing records.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
