Aerotek is hiring an Assembler for Somerset, NJ, to build a variety of products from cords to generator systems. You will perform point-to-point wiring, use basic hand tools, and ensure quality and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Shifts include first and second; this is a contract-to-hire position based in Somerset, NJ with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Hands-on wiring experience in an assembly or production setting.
• Ability to strip wires safely and accurately with proper tools.
• Proficiency with basic hand tools: screwdrivers, tape measures, wire strippers, utility knives.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate wiring and quality workmanship.
• Reliable with consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Flexible to handle different tasks, products, and priorities.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Good communication to collaborate with supervisors and team members.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products ranging from cords to mobile generator systems as per specs and work instructions.
• Perform point-to-point wiring to connect components accurately and safely.
• Strip wires using appropriate tools to prepare them for connections and terminations.
• Use hand tools (screwdrivers, tape measures, wire strippers, utility knives) to complete tasks.
• Inspect work for quality and completeness, ensuring proper connections.
• Follow production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area per safety guidelines.
• Communicate with the supervisor and team to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Adapt to different product builds and tasks, showing willingness to learn new skills.
• Document issues, discrepancies, or defects and report promptly.
