Job description

About the role:

As an Electrical Assembler, you will perform electrical assembly activities including cable build, panel/enclosure build, soldering, and installing components on full machines. You will read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics, use multimeters to measure voltage/current/resistance, and employ hand tools to route conduit, pull wires, and terminate cabling.

You will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and work on-site at the Westinghouse manufacturing facility in Shoreview, MN, located 20 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. No relocation provided. We can consider candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future, as we are unable to sponsor visas for this opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret drawings, project materials, and production orders.
• Assemble electrical panels and enclosures, including cable sub-assemblies.
• Operate a variety of test and calibration equipment.
• Perform soldering and crimping tasks.
• Operate shop equipment such as drill presses, bandsaws, fiber lasers, and laser engravers.
• Operate overhead cranes.
• Perform safety wiring and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Estimate work orders and schedule planning.
• Conduct factory acceptance testing.
• Interact with customers.
• Lead daily activities in the absence of a lead.
• Maintain Westinghouse's 'Security' and 'Fitness for Duty' requirements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 0-5+ years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with shop equipment such as drill presses, bandsaws, fiber lasers, and laser engravers.
