Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Forsyth, GA is seeking an entry-level helper to support skilled craftspersons by interpreting drawings, measuring, cutting, bending and installing electrical conduit and related components.

You will work under supervision, learn to use hand and power tools, and assist with testing and startup of systems while following safety rules. A high school diploma and your own basic tools are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Effective communication with supervision.
• Field experience in chosen craft.
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and plans to determine work procedures, tools and equipment.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable/duct banks; make terminations.
• Install control/distribution apparatus and secure in place.
• Test and startup systems; ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
• Observe equipment to identify hazards and needed adjustments or replacements.
• Pull wire through conduit and connect wiring to lighting fixtures/power equipment.
• Work with high and low voltage systems.
• Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
• Learn to operate hand, power, hydraulic and pneumatic tools.
