Job summary

Sherwood Companies in Oklahoma City is seeking an Electrical Apprentice to support a busy construction site, maintain safety, and help keep projects on track. You will handle material movement, wire pulling, and setting lighting and control equipment under supervision.

The ideal candidate holds an Electrical Apprentice License, a valid driver’s license, and can lift heavy materials, stay organized, and communicate clearly.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

THE ELECTRICAL APPRENTICE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING A CLEAN, SAFE, AND EFFICIENT CONSTRUCTION SITE WHILE ALSO SUPPORTING THE OVERALL PROJECT.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Load and unload job site materials.
• Pull wire (electrical cables, conduit, etc.).
• Set all traffic signal/ lighting equipment.
• Build services/ controllers.
• Dig trenches and backfill holes to prepare for the construction site.
• Operate equipment and heavy machinery as needed at site.
• Assist with excavation (shoveling rock out of areas heavy equipment cannot reach).
• Set pull boxes.
• Maintain and inspect equipment.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Electrical Apprentice License.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials.
• Ability to focus and keep calm under pressure.
• Excellent organization and planning skills to prioritize and balance work.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and professionally.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Job sites that are hot in the summer and cold in the winter, hazardous, noisy, and dusty.
• Occasional work in warehouse.
