Sunrun Inc. is seeking an Electrical Trainee in Des Plaines, IL. You will assist Foremen and Electricians on residential solar installations, helping with electrical support, assembly, and site preparation. Emphasis on safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork across the crew.

The role requires basic electrical knowledge, a high school diploma, and a valid license. Expect cross-training, travel up to 5%, and ongoing Power+ program participation to expand skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of electrical installation and repair experience.
• Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards.
• Ability to perform all installation duties of the Installer and Lead Installer.
• Professional appearance and customer interaction.
• Strong work ethic with attention to detail.
• Basic computer knowledge: Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Willingness to participate in Power+ programs and cross-training.
• Possess strong mechanical/construction skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively.
• Valid Driver’s License; 5% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of electrical systems interconnecting the solar array to the grid.
• Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues.
• Assemble the racking and solar array when assigned.
• Perform trenching, concrete work and equipment assembly.
• Maintain project site and vehicle cleanliness; ensure safety and quality.
• Observe OSHA standards and enforce safety practices on site.
