Job summary

Sunrun is seeking an Electrical Trainee to support the Foreman and Electricians on residential solar installations. You will assist with electrical systems interconnected to the grid, troubleshoot issues, and help with installation tasks under supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork, with opportunities to learn across different installation stages and potentially cross-train in other departments through Sunrun's Power+ program.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical installation and repair experience.
  • Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards.
  • Professional appearance and customer interaction.
  • Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to participate in Power+ programs.
  • Strong mechanical/construction skills with craftsmanship.
  • Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation of electrical systems that interconnect the solar array to the grid power.
  • Assist in troubleshooting system problems and resolve electrical issues.
  • Assemble the racking and solar array when assigned.
  • Trenching, concrete work and equipment assembly.
  • Project clean up including client site and installation vehicle.
  • Emphasize safety, quality, customer service and productivity.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA standards related to photovoltaic installations and enforce safety.
  • Develop a positive working dynamic within installation crew and branch coworkers.
