Ability to read wiring schematics, technical procedures, and mechanical drawings.
Experience diagnosing motors, actuators, motion control systems, and related components.
Ability to troubleshoot issues independently or with remote technical guidance.
Willingness to travel within the United States and Canada as required.
Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Job description

A manufacturing and test engineering organization is currently seeking an Electrical and Mechanical Technician for a 6-month contract opportunity based in Newark, New Jersey. The role supports electronic test systems used in laboratory and production environments and includes initial training in Allen, Texas. Short-term travel throughout the United States and Canada will be required to assist with equipment deployment, maintenance, and project support activities.

This position is focused on the installation, troubleshooting, and upkeep of complex test equipment and supporting infrastructure. The technician will work across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and coolant systems while partnering with engineering and manufacturing teams to diagnose issues, complete repairs, and ensure reliable equipment performance.
