Job summary

Enhance Recruiting is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Specialist for a growing paper packaging manufacturer in Pryor, Oklahoma. This hands-on role covers troubleshooting across multiple plant areas, including paper machines, E&I systems, and boiler/utility processes.

The position requires 1–3+ years in electrical maintenance in manufacturing, with a degree or related certification. Strong PLC/DCS programming, HMI, sensors, and robotics skills are essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related certification in engineering/industrial tech or electronics.
• 1–3+ years’ experience as an electrical maintenance technician in manufacturing.
• Paper manufacturing or industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and knowledge of sensors, controllers, transmitters, valves, and robotics.
• PLC and DCS programming experience and ability to modify control logic.

Responsibilities

• Navigate process control systems and field devices.
• Assess, program and repair PLCs, HMI, Drives, and other control systems.
• Serve as consultant to operations/maintenance for issue resolution.
• Support instrumentation and control device installations in capital projects.
• Manage changes by backing up programs and updating drawings/schematics.
• Support daily activities, shutdowns, planning, and long-term projects related to process controls.
• Support reliability programs such as thermography, ultrasound, motor and power analysis.

Job description

We’re seeking a skilled Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Specialist to join a growing paper packaging manufacturer in the Pryor, Oklahoma area. This is a highly visible, hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, improving equipment performance, and working across a diverse manufacturing operation. You’ll provide critical electrical, instrumentation, and controls expertise supporting multiple areas of the facility, including paper machine operations, Electrical & Instrumentation Systems, Secondary Fiber Processing, Automated Warehouse Systems, Effluent Treatment Operations, and Boiler & Utility Systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Navigate process control systems and associated field devices.
• Assess, program and repair PLCs, HMI, Drives, and other control systems.
• Act as a consultant and resource to operations and maintenance team members when identifying and troubleshooting issues.
• Support capital projects installations of instrumentation and control devices
• Manage changes to systems by keeping programs backed up and updating documentation, schematics, and drawings.
• Successfully support daily activities, periodic shutdowns for fabric changes/maintenance, long-term planning and capital projects related to the process controls and E&I department.
• Support reliability programs such as thermography, ultrasound, motor and power analysis

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, or other related degree or a vocational certificate/diploma in electronic controls/instrumentation/technician.
• A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 1-3+ years’ experience as an electrical maintenance technician in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Paper manufacturing or other industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of various electrical sensors, switches, controllers, instrumentation, transmitters, automated valves, calibrations, industrial communications, robotics, motion control and AC/DC control power
• Programming experience includes the ability to create, monitor, modify PLC and DCS control logic.
• Ability to work with plant personnel, engineering groups, and outside contractors to ensure the proper execution of work.
