Job summary

Doosan Robotics X ONExia is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer to own electrical architecture, PCB design, wiring harnesses, and safety compliance for our robotics products. You will program PLCs and scanners, test components, and collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready systems.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, strong robotics electrical design experience, and familiarity with UL/CE/CSA safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong background in electrical design for industrial machinery/robotics.
  • Experience with UL, CE, CSA safety requirements and risk analysis.
  • Experience with PLC programming (Micro850 or similar).
  • PCB, panel, and wiring harness design experience.
  • Ability to produce production-ready schematics, drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profinet) preferred.
  • Experience with industrial vision preferred.
  • Able to collaborate with software teams while owning hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Own electrical architecture, circuit design, PCB design, wiring harnesses, and component selection.
  • Define reusable electrical standards and hardware platforms across the end-of-line product family.
  • Ensure designs are explicit, documented, and ready for production without ambiguity.
  • Ensure compliance with UL, CE, CSA, machinery safety, and functional safety requirements.
  • Perform electrical safety analysis, risk assessment, and support certification or compliance testing.
  • Design circuits, harnesses, and assemblies to reduce wiring effort, assembly time, errors, cost, and service complexity.
  • Source, wire, and test components such as sensors and cameras for integration with existing products.
  • Program sub-components, including PLCs and scanners, to support product and equipment functionality.
  • Test wiring and troubleshoot electrical issues in systems under development.
  • Partner with Software, Mechanical, Prototype, Industrialization, and Manufacturing resources during integration and release.
  • Contribute electrical content to manuals, test procedures, troubleshooting documentation, and production work instructions.

The Opportunity

The Electrical & Controls Engineer owns electrical architecture, circuit design, safety hardware, and wiring harness design for our products. This role develops standardized, production-ready electrical systems that are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and easy to assemble, test, and service. The Electrical & Controls Engineer also sources and tests integration components, programs sub-components such as PLCs and scanners, and troubleshoots in-development products.

What Your Days Will Look Like:
  • Own product electrical architecture, circuit design, PCB design, wiring harnesses, and component selection.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant work experience
  • Strong electrical design background, ideally in industrial machinery, robotics, or automation equipment.
  • Experience with UL, CE, CSA, electrical safety, and risk-analysis requirements.
  • Experience with PLC programming (Micro850 or similar).
  • PCB, circuit, panel, and wiring harness design experience.
  • Ability to produce production-ready schematics, drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
  • Must have strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of robotic safety, functional safety, and industrial control components preferred.
  • Knowledge of EIP, Profinet, or other industrial protocols preferred.
  • Experience with industrial vision preferred
  • Comfortable collaborating closely with software-focused engineers while maintaining clear hardware ownership.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts
