Job summary

Exelon is seeking a cost estimator to develop bottoms-up estimates for Substation, Transmission, Distribution and Gas projects. You will model, forecast and analyze costs, maintain standard unit costs, and support short- and long-range planning with cross-functional teams.

The role requires building estimates from design documents or scopes, collaborating with Project Managers, and presenting findings in formal meetings. Extended hours during storms may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Technical Field.
• 2–4 years related experience, or 3–6 years with no Bachelor's in lieu.
• Ability to build high- or detailed estimates from diagrams or scope.
• Interface effectively with all management levels.
• Facilitate project meetings to develop estimates.
• Strong understanding of performance metrics in electric/gas transmission, distribution, substations.

Responsibilities

• Develop Phase 1–3 project cost estimates in WBS format with assumptions.
• Conduct forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI tracking.
• Update unit costs and support database updates.
• Create parametric estimates and update values with market trends.
• Coordinate with Project Managers for review and feedback.
• Prepare for contractor bid or estimate challenge meetings.
