Custom Truck One Source in Alexandria, LA is seeking a hands-on Utility Tool & Testing Technician. You will inspect, test, repair, refurbish, and assemble specialized equipment used in the electric utility industry, including stringing blocks, fiberglass gear, and grounding assemblies.

The role works with service, rental, and sales teams to ensure customers receive safe, reliable, and ready-to-use equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and test equipment.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and testing equipment.
• Ability to read and follow technical manuals, work instructions, and testing procedures.
• Identify worn, damaged, or non-conforming components and determine corrective actions.
• Basic computer skills for entering inspection, testing, repair, and inventory data.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Strong attendance record and commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, sort, diagnose, repair, and test stringing blocks and related equipment.
• Inspect, repair, refurbish, and test fiberglass hot sticks and related fiberglass equipment.
• Inspect, test, and certify rubber insulating goods and tools used in the field.
• Assemble, test, and service temporary grounding and bonding cable assemblies.
