Job summary

KDM Engineering is seeking a Distribution Engineer II – Electric Utilities to support a growing electric utility project in the Philadelphia area. This role develops designs, layouts, drawings, and BOMs for distribution systems, coordinating with construction crews and clients to meet schedules.

Candidates should hold a BS in Electrical Engineering, bring 4+ years of experience, and be proficient with AutoCAD, TED, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• BS Electrical Engineering degree is required.
• 4+ years of prior industry experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, TED, and Microsoft Office for electrical design drawings.
• Knowledge of PPL Electric Utilities standards and distribution design practices is preferred.
• Ability to interpret and analyze customer's electrical, architectural, and structural drawings, one-line diagrams, and load letters.

Responsibilities

• Design development, equipment layouts, construction drawings, and bill of materials for distribution projects.
• Proficiency in power engineering theories and principles.
• Research engineering/design issues, evaluate alternatives, and prepare recommendations.
• Understand power distribution systems and coordinate with multiple teams.
• Demonstrate project management, quantitative, and analytical skills.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
