Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Construction Coordinator for our San Antonio, TX area to oversee electric and/or communications construction projects. You will coordinate between electric pole owners, subcontractors, and engineering stakeholders, and track progress, permits, and financials to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with high safety standards.

Responsibilities include design reviews, construction estimating, progress reporting, and post-construction closure using our work

Qualifications

• High-school diploma with 3+ years electric utility or telecom experience OR Bachelor's in engineering with 1 year experience.
• Obtain and maintain professional certificates/licenses as required by project.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace and data entry.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present information clearly to stakeholders.
• Ability to perform moderately complex arithmetic computations.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and resolve problems with multiple variables.
• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR; pass Davey Driver’s Safety Course.
• Preferred: CAD/OP Engineering tools, PLA software and other work management tools.
• Preferred: 5 years’ electric utility or telecom experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate communication between engineering stakeholders, subcontractors, and electric pole owner.
• Review designs and prepare construction estimates using predefined templates.
• Track progress and manage financial aspects to ensure milestones are met.
• Plan daily tasks to meet quality, time, and budget constraints.
• Issue bid requests to approved contractors and manage responses.
• Report post-construction inspection results and closure in the work request system.
• Monitor pending estimates and ensure timely approval.
• Provide updates to key stakeholders on project status.
• Travel up to 25% for on-site training, projects, or meetings.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain equipment in good condition.
