Job summary

Umatilla Electric in Hermiston, Oregon is looking for a System Operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the electrical system. This role includes collaborating with Operations Superintendents and implementing safety protocols while maintaining real-time system status.

The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS in Management or Engineering, or equivalent experience, and at least eight years in electric utility operations. Benefits include a competitive salary, retirement plans, and comprehensive health coverage.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Management/Engineering preferred.
• Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in electric utility administration or engineering.
• Completion of an approved apprentice program for electrical utility journeyman.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of the electrical system under various conditions.
• Develop and issue instructions for switching orders.
• Coordinate restoration in response to outages and emergencies.
