Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a Spacecraft Propulsion Technician to help scale production of the highest-powered electric propulsion system for orbit. You will work across mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems in a fast-paced environment, assembling Hall thrusters, COPVs, and related sub-assemblies.

The role emphasizes hands-on fabrication, testing, and collaboration with manufacturing, test, quality, and engineering teams to ensure robust hardware and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on aerospace assembly and test experience in propulsion, pressure, or fluid systems.
• Experience with pressure testing, leak checks, proof/burst testing, or COPV handling.
• Familiarity with MES/MRP software and calibrated tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on assembly of Hall thruster subsections to drawings and BOMs.
• Support system integration, high-pressure operations, leak checks, and proof testing.
• Fabricate and install precision tubing, fluid lines, and wire harnesses.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, test, quality and design engineering to resolve issues.
• Follow MES work instructions and participate in setup of vacuum chamber for testing.
• Provide feedback for process improvements and support other departments as needed.
