Job summary

Ziegler CAT is seeking an EPG Sales Engineer to develop sales opportunities with new and existing Electric Power customers in Minnesota. You will support Electric Power customers by addressing commercial issues, providing technical documentation, supporting other sales engineers, and assisting with project management as needed.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of technical sales experience; travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Clean driving record.
• Knowledge of internal combustion engine installations and drive trains.
• Experience in Electric Power, Electrician, Generator, or Reciprocating Engine is desired.

Responsibilities

• Seeks out prospective customers and provides proposals for Electric Power Generation equipment.
• Responds to current customer requests for Electric Power Generation equipment.
• Analyzes engineering specifications to quote equipment that will meet the project requirements.
• Analyzes Electric Power Generation sales opportunities in the territory and systematically targets business opportunities.
• Documents the project and component specifications required by individual customers.
• Documents sales quotations for customers using standard Ziegler formatting.
• Supports other Sales Engineers as well as customers by providing technical information, literature, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Learns about Cat and competitive products in order to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns.
• Quotes and closes sales transactions within assigned authority parameters, completing all required sales documentation.
• Coordinates the activities of support divisions within Ziegler and Caterpillar to manage product field service and product quality issues.
• Documents quotation, win, loss and data along with other business activities.

The total compensation (base plus incentive) for this position is $111,300.00 to $166,900.00. Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, and education.
