Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) is seeking a Safety Specialist - Electric Operations to promote safe work practices across generation, transmission, and distribution. You will conduct field safety observations, inspections, audits, and hazard assessments while partnering with supervisors, employees, and contractors to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field, OSHA 500 certification, and 3+ years in

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred).
• Three years of experience in occupational safety, environmental health and safety, or related field; utility/construction experience preferred.
• OSHA 500 Certification at hire or within 6 months of hire.
• Valid Florida driver's license.

• Conduct field safety observations, inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Support development and improvement of safety programs and procedures.
• Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Provide safety coaching and training to reinforce safe work practices.
• Support contractor safety oversight and safety documentation.
• Monitor safety performance trends and support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate across departments to advance enterprise safety initiatives.
