Position Summary
  • Researches and carries out complex or innovative engineering assignments requiring the development of new or improved methods, techniques, and procedures, particularly related to electromagnetic design of AC and DC motors. Ensures timely and efficient completion of detailed engineering projects to achieve company cost and customer service objectives. Acts as Project Leader with Technical responsibility for Design Planning, Organizing, and conducting Technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development of new or improved products and/or processes. Position requires strong background in Gear Design and manufacturing to effectively integrate with Product Engineering to ensure an optimal design for manufacturing and assembly.

Experience in Gear design and Manufacturing is required.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related technical discipline required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through ten or more years of related experience.
  • Extensive experience in Gear design and Manufacturing is required.
  • Working knowledge of solid model CAD, FEA, and simulation software is preferred. Must possess knowledge of DFM/DFA principles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering theories, including Mechanical, Electronic, packaging, and/or optics or related engineering theories, principles, industry practices, concepts, techniques, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to apply and integrate knowledge of other related engineering areas or experts to own area of expertise.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of; and ability to lead and implement, continuous improvement principles and techniques.
  • Ability to use standard business applications software and specialized data analysis, design, and project management tools.
  • Ability to work on complex problems where in-depth analysis and evaluation of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Ability to solve complex problems in creative and effective ways and ensure solutions are consistent with organizational objectives.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete complex or major projects to provide status to the team at project milestones.
  • Ability to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex policies and recommend changes to procedures.
  • Ability to respond to significant inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to top Management, Customers, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
