Job summary

Peak Utility Infrastructure is hiring a field worker to access residential and commercial meters, perform required electrical service tasks, and support utility installations in Florida. The role involves heavy manual labor and working on ladders in varied conditions while ensuring safety and quality workmanship.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years in customer service and 2+ years in electricity-related work; a valid driver’s license is required within two weeks.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of customer service experience.
• Two or more years of experience with electricity and ladders preferred.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State Driver’s License within two weeks of employment.
• Candidates must pass criminal and MVR background checks and a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Driving (75%/day).
• Entering residential and commercial property to access electric meters and perform required work.
• Setting, changing, or disconnecting the electric meter and reading investigations.
• Work with energized electric equipment to respond to meter issues.
• Provide customer service with humility and care.

Essential Functions:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Driving (75%/day)
• Entering residential and commercial property to access the electric meter to perform required work
• Services provided: Setting, changing, or disconnecting the electric meter as well as reading investigation
• Working with energized electric equipment to respond to meter issue for Xcel
• Providing customer service with a responsibility to humility and to the customers we serve
• Working with pride and a high quality of workmanship

Success Factors:

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
• Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
• Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
• Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
• Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
• English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
• Willingness and ability to learn additional skills

Experience and Education:

• Two (2+) plus years of customer service experience
• One (2+) plus years of working with electricity and on ladders preferred
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
• Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
