ENTRUST Solutions Group in the Greater Chicago area is seeking a Design Specialist to support electric distribution design projects from planning through construction. You will work closely with engineers, project teams, and our utility client to deliver safe and reliable solutions.

Ideal candidates have experience with CAD-based design, AutoCAD, O-Calc, SPIDACalc, and GIS, with willingness to travel up to 20% for fieldwork and coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience with electric distribution design, drafting, or CAD-based design work.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, O-Calc, and/or SPIDACalc (or similar design tools).
• Experience with GIS or mapping systems; willingness to travel up to 20% for fieldwork and client coordination.

Responsibilities

• Support overhead and underground electric distribution design projects for our client.
• Use design tools to develop layouts, drawings, and construction-ready packages.
• Assist with creating and maintaining plans, specifications, reports, diagrams, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate and manage permit submittals, ensuring compliance with local requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams, field personnel, and client representatives to ensure project success.
• Help manage workload, timelines, and project deliverables across multiple assignments.
• Conduct field visits, site investigations, and data collection to support design accuracy (up to ~20% travel).
• Support construction coordination, including verification and issue resolution in the field.
